EEMB-DPTH was founded in 2015 and specializes in the field of Biotechnology. The research activities of its members focus on the isolation and characterization of “wild” strains of Saccharomyces and Malolactic bacteria and their evaluation as starter cultures in winemaking. The Head of EEMB-DPTH, Assoc. Prof. I. Kourkoutas, has extensive experience from previous participation in projects related to the agri-food sector (he has been/is the Coordinator/Scientific Manager of 8 projects).
