The Oenology Laboratory (OLN) of the AUA was founded in July 2015 and serves educational and research needs in wine technology and microbiology, in the chemical composition of grapes and wine and in the bottling, conservation and aging processes of wine & alcoholic beverages. Staffing the wine industry with appropriate personnel and helping to solve wine problems is the major goal of this Laboratory. The Laboratory also collaborates with wine product companies that wish to experiment with Greek varieties. It also actively participates in the formation of the wine strategy of the country and of individual regions and drafts research proposals. The Laboratory's facilities include: a research laboratory, an organoleptic testing room and an experimental winery.
