Basdani Winery
The vineyard is located in the village of Nipsa in the Municipality of Alexandroupolis. It was planted in 2013 and covers an area of 50 acres. The vineyard is dominated by French wine grape varieties such as Syrah and Merlot. Other varieties are Assyrtiko and Hamburg Muscat. The vineyard also grows Sultanina, which is sold in grocery stores in the Municipality of Alexandroupolis. No Thracian or Hevritian grape varieties are grown in the vineyard.
The producer owns a small winery and a tsipouro distillation still. The producer's winery was founded in 2020, the year in which the first bottled wine was produced. The producer is a graduate in Agriculture and his family's love for the vine and wine prompted him to establish the vineyard. The area of the village of Nipsa in the mountains of the Municipality of Alexandroupolis has a special climate and unique soil conditions, because it is located at a privileged altitude, at the foot of the mountain, which is ideal for growing grapes.
Mr. Basdani's vineyard is cultivated with organic practices and is part of a certified program, ensuring harmony with the environment and the high quality of the fruit. When the grapes are ripe and ready for harvest, they are carefully picked and transported to the winery.
The producer produces 1,300 bottles of wine each year under the trade names Basdanis White Dry, Basdanis Red Dry, Basdanis Semi-Sweet and Basdanis Red Sweet.
From the marc, it also produces tsipouro every year.
The winemaker sells the wines produced throughout Thrace, to individuals, to stores, to friends and acquaintances.
